Qetaifan Island North Triathlon 2024

QETAIFAN ISLAND NORTH TRIATHLON 2024 RACE INFORMATION

Register for the fifth and final Qatar National Triathlon Series event – Qetaifan Island North Triathlon, Meryal Waterpark Triathlon. The event will have a Super Sprint distance triathlon for individuals and teams from 12 y/o and above.

Registration closes on the 7th of MAY 2024, noontime or when the event is sold out.

NOTE: This is a DRAFT Legal, Road Bike ONLY event.

Schedule, Friday, 10 May 2024:

• 04:45 am: Race Pack Collection
• 06:00 am: Main Super Sprint MALE Start
• 06:10 am: Main Super Sprint FEMALE Start
• 06:20 am: Youth Super Sprint Start
• SWIM CUT OFF: 45 Minutes after the Start (All remaining athletes on the water will be DNF)
• 08:00 am: Apprx: Awards Ceremony

Arriving at the Venue:

• Make sure you arrive maximum by 05:45! The road will be closed after that to secure the bike course.
• Parking is available at the Meryal Waterpark Underground Parking. [Click Here] (Pin Location)
• Sign-on registration is in the Meryal Waterpark Lobby Area. [Click Here] (Pin Location)
• Each participant will be given an entry bracelet to enter the park (please return your bracelet when leaving the premises). You can know more about Meryal Waterpark by clicking here

Race Distances:

• Main Super Sprint Triathlon (STRICTLY 16+ YO): 375m Swim (1 lap) – 11km Bike (2 laps) – 3km Run (3 laps).
• Team Relay Triathlon (Minimum age 16 YO): 375m Swim (1 lap) – 11km Bike (2 laps) – 3km Run (3 laps) (ONLY 20 SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE)
• Youth Super Sprint (12-13 & 14-15 YO): 375m Swim (1 lap) – 10km Bike (2 laps) 3km Run (3 laps). (ONLY 20 SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE)

Parents must be aware of the distances and be sure that their kids can finish it.

Age Groups for Super Sprint Triathlon (M/F):

IMPORTANT NOTE: Athletes fall into the age group with reference to his/her age on the 31st of December

Registration Fees:

• Super Sprint Triathlon: 200 QAR
• Team Relay Super Sprint Triathlon: 250 QAR

Bag Drop Off:

• Athletes can leave their bags at the specified area (NO BAGS IN TRANSITION)
• Expect some queues while dropping off/collecting your bag
• When collecting bags, the athlete must show his/her bib number

Start Protocol:

• Wave start (5 seconds gap between each wave).
• Give priority to faster swimmers.

Finish Area:

• Athletes & spectators are NOT allowed to remain at the finish area after crossing the finish line
• Once you cross the finish line, proceed to the specified area for refreshments
• Once you cross the finish line, our officials will take off your timing chip

Swimming Rules (In addition to what is in World Triathlon Competition Rules):

• Swimming is at your own risk and responsibility. You must be able to cover the swim distance without any assistance.
• Wetsuits are NOT allowed.
• Buoyancy devices, fins, and paddles are NOT allowed.

Transition Rules (In addition to What is in World Triathlon Competition Rules):

• The transition zone (TZ) will open at 04:30 am and close at 05:45 am.
• Athletes are not allowed inside transition after 05:45 am.
• Spectators/family/friends/etc are NOT allowed in transition.
• Bags are NOT allowed inside transition.
• Athletes are allowed to have a towel on the floor inside the transition.
• Only equipment that is used during the race is allowed inside transition.
• There will be a designated area for Team Relay competitors to receive their timing chip from their teammate.
• Team Relay athletes are NOT allowed to leave their designated zone to collect their timing chip.
• Team Relay athletes who finished their designated leg are NOT allowed to stay in the timing chip handover area.
• Riding your bike inside transition is NOT allowed.
• Before entering the transition, make sure you have your helmet on your head and your bike is ready so our officials can check it.
• Bikes that have open/uncovered drop ends will not be allowed into transition.
• Cracked or loose helmet straps are NOT allowed.
• After finishing swimming & cycling, make sure you rack your bike and place your swim gear in your designated area.
• You are only allowed to ride your bike AFTER the mount line.
• You must get off your bike BEFORE the dismount line.

Bike Rules (In addition to What is in World Triathlon Competition Rules):

• Drafting is ALLOWED.
• ONLY road bikes are allowed.
• TT Bikes & Helmets are NOT allowed.
• Men are NOT allowed to draft behind women.
• Women are NOT allowed to draft behind men.
• Drafting behind the opposite gender will result in DSQ.
• Littering and disposing of energy gels/food during the bike leg is NOT allowed.
• The bib number must be on the back while cycling.
• Athletes MUST have their bib number on.
• The bike course has turns, U-turns, and corners.
• Athletes must take care of their own safety and the safety of others.
• NO HELMET = NO RIDE = IMMEDIATE DSQ.
• No outside assistance is allowed in case of a mechanical failure.
• Athletes are responsible for the safety and functionality of their bikes & helmets.

Running Rules (In addition to What is in World Triathlon Competition Rules):

• Athletes are NOT allowed to run with bare torso. Athletes must always cover their upper body & thighs.
• Littering is only allowed during the run leg in the designated littering zone.
• Littering zone start and finish will be marked.
• Bib number MUST be present in the front during the run leg.
• Littering outside the littering zone is a rule violation.

 General Rules & information:

• Athletes must return their timing chip. Failure to do so, the athlete must pay 500 QAR.
• The timing chip must be placed on the left foot ankle.
• Our officials are available to assist you. Kindly adhere to their instructions.
• We strongly advise you to stay hydrated and use sunscreen.
• Detailed parking areas and course maps will be shared soon.
• The race course will be marked. However, it is the athlete’s responsibility to follow the course and count their laps.

Ceremony

• The First three athletes in all race categories must attend the ceremony to be eligible for prizes.

• 05:00 am: Race Pack Collection
• 06:30 am: Main event start time (Sprint Distance)
• 08:00 am: Youth Super Sprint (12-13 & 14-15 YO). (This is the planned start. However, it might be delayed until the last cyclist from the sprint distance is out of the course).

• We are delighted to inform you that we will have the awards ceremony at Meryal Waterpark, where the participants will get to enjoy the facility after the race for free 😀
• After finishing the event, kindly drive to the underground parking of Meryal Waterpark
• Riding your bike to the park can be an option as well
• From the parking area, please walk to the main gate where the ceremony will take place
• Each participant will be given an entry bracelet to enter the park (please make sure to return your bracelet when leaving the premises). You can know more about Meryal Waterpark by clicking here

مسافات السباق:

• أكواثلون الصغار (عمر 7-9 & 10-11): 200م سباحة (لفة واحدة) – 2.5كم جري (لفة واحدة). (التسجيل متاح فقط ل 30 مشارك).           يجب على أمور الأولياء الكرام التأكد من قدرة أطفالهم على إنهاء هذه المسافات والعلم بها.
• سوبر سبرنت (عمر 12-13 & 14-15): 375م سباحة (لفة واحدة) – 10كم دراجة (2 لفة) – 2.5كم جري (لفة واحدة). (التسجيل متاح فقط ل 30 مشارك)
• ترياثلون (سبرنت) (فقط لمن هم 16 عام فما فوق): 750م سباحة (لفة واحدة) – 20كم دراجة (4 لفات) – 5كم جري (2 لفة).
• التتابع الفرقي (ترياثلون) (فقط لمن هم 16 عام فما فوق): 750م سباحة (لفة واحدة) – 20كم دراجة (4 لفات) – 5كم جري (2 لفة). (التسجيل متاح فقط ل 20 فريق).

تخزين الحقائب:

• يستطيع المشاركين ترك حقائبهم في المنطقة المخصصة. (يمنع وضع الحقائب في منطقة التبديل)
• توقع الانتظار بعض الوقت عند ترك/استلام حقيبتك
• عند استلام الحقيبة، يتوجب على كل المشاركين إبراز أرقامهم

منطقة النهاية:

• يمنع من المشاركين والحضور البقاء في منطقة النهاية بعد الوصول
• بعد الوصول، على المشاركين التوجه مباشرة إلى المنطقة المخصصة
• عند الوصول، سيقوم الحكام بأخذ شريحة التوقيت الخاصة بكم

القواعد والتعليمات:

• سيتم تطبيق قواعد الاتحاد الدولي للعبة. نرجو منكم مراجعتها هنا

تعليمات السباحة (بالإضافة إلى تعليمات الاتحاد الدولي للعبة):

• السباحة على مسؤوليتك الخاصة. يجب على كل لاعب إكمال مسافة السباحة من دون أي مساعدة خارجية
• لكم الحرية في ارتداء (الويت سوت) أو عدم ارتدائها
• لا يسمح باستخدام أدوات السباحة التي تساعد على الطوفان، ولا الزعانف ولا (البادلز)

تعليمات منطقة التبديل (بالإضافة إلى تعليمات الاتحاد الدولي للعبة):

• ستفتح منطقة التبديل الساعة 05:00 صباحاً وستغلق على الساعة 06:15
• لا يسمح بدخول اللاعبين إلى منطقة التبديل بعد الساعة 06:15
• لا يسمح بتواجد الجمهور أو الأصدقاء أو العائلة في منطقة التبديل
• لا يسمح بترك الحقائب في منطقة التبديل
• يسمح للمشاركين بترك المناشف على الأرض في منطقة التبديل
• يسمح فقط بوضع المعدات التي سيتم استخدامها في السباق داخل منطقة التبديل
• سيكون هناك منطقة مخصصة للمشاركين في سباق التتابع لإعطاء واستلام شريحة التوقيت
• لا يسمح للمشاركين بالتتابع مغادرة منطقتهم المخصصة لاستلام شريحة التوقيت
• على المشاركين الذين أنهوا مرحلتهم الخاصة بالتتابع عدم البقاء في منطقة تسليم شريحة التوقيت
• لا يسمح بركوب الدراجة داخل منطقة التبديل
• قبل دخول منطقة التبديل، تأكد من ارتداء الخوذة ومن جاهزية دراجتك ليتأكد منها الحكام
• إذا كان مقود الدراجة يفتقد السدادات، لن يسمح للمشارك بدخول منطقة التبديل
• لا يسمح باستخدام الخوذة التي فيها تشققات أو إذا كان حزام الأمان فيها مرخي
• تأكد من وضع معداتك التي استخدمتها ومن تعليق دراجتك بشكل صحيح بعد الانتهاء من مرحلتي السباحة والدراجة وفي المكان المخصص
• يمكنك ركوب الدراجة بعد أن تتعدى خط الركوب
• يجب أن تنزل عن دراجتك قبل أن تتعدى خط النزول

تعليمات مرحلة الدراجة (بالإضافة إلى تعليمات الاتحاد الدولي للعبة):

• الاحتماء مسموح
• يسمح فقط باستخدام دراجات الطريق
• لا يسمح باستخدام دراجات وخوذ ضد الساعة
• لا يسمح للرجال بالاحتماء خلف السيدات
  لا يسمح للسيدات بالاحتماء خلف الرجال
  عدم اتباعكم لقواعد الاحتماء سيعرضكم للإقصاء
• لا يسمح برمي النفايات أثناء ركوب الدراجة على طول المسار
• يجب أن يكون الرقم ظاهراً على الخلف أثناء ركوب الدراجة
• يتوجب على كل مشارك وضع الرقم الخاص به
• مسار الدراجة يحتوي على العديد من الانعطافات. لذا يجب توخي الحذر والمحافظة على سلامتك وسلامة المشاركين
• عدم ارتداء الخوذة = لن يسمح لك بالركوب = إقصاء من السباق
• لا يسمح باستخدام أي مساعدة خارجية في حال حصوا عطل ميكانيكي
• سلامة خوذتك ودراجتك على مسؤوليتك الخاصة

تعليمات مرحلة الجري (بالإضافة إلى تعليمات الاتحاد الدولي للعبة):

• لا يسمح للمشاركين الجري دون تغطية منطقة الصدر والظهر والأفخاذ
• يسمح برمي النفايات فقط في المنطقة المحددة أثناء مرحلة الجري
• نقطة بداية ونهاية منطقة رمي النفايات ستكون محددة بشواخص
• يجب أن يكون رقم كل لاعب ظاهراً على الأمام
• رمي النفايات في المنطقة الغير مخصصة لذلك سيعتبر خرقاً للقواعد

التتويج (حديقة مريال المائية):

• نحن سعداء بإعلامكم أن التتويج سيكون في حديقة مريال المائية، حيث سيتاح لجميع المشاركين الاستمتاع بمرافق الحديقة مجاناً بعد السباق 😀
• بعد انتهاء السباق، بإمكانكم القيادة إلى أماكن الاصطفاف الخاصة بالحديقة
• يمكنكم أيضاً الذهاب بالدراجة
• بعد الاصطفاف، توجهوا إلى البوابة الرئيسية حيث ستتم مراسم التتويج
• سيحصل جميع المشاركين على سوارة خاصة للدخول إلى الحديقة (يرجى إرجاع السوارة عند مغادرة المكان)

معلومات وتعليمات عامة:

• يجب على كل لاعب إعادة شريحة التوقيت الخاصة به. في حال عدم الامتثال لذلك، سيتوجب على كل لاعب دفع غرامة مالية بقيمة 500 ر.ق
• يجب وضع شريحة التوقيت على الكاحل الأيسر
• يتواجد حكامنا لمساعدتك… لذا نرجوا منكم الالتزام بتعليماتهم
• ننصحكم باستخدام واقي الشمس وشربة كمية وافرة من السوائل
• سيتم مشاركة خارطة أماكن الاصطفاف ومسارات السباق التفصيلية لاحقاَ
• مسار السباق سيكون محددا، لكن كل لاعب مسؤول عن تتبع المسار واحتساب لفاته

• أكواثلون الصغار: 70 ر.ق
